Job summary

Perusahaan Maju in Malaysia seeks a meticulous Halal Executive to maintain HAS across operations. You will coordinate Halal documentation, ensure supplier certificates, and oversee QC testing and product release in line with JAKIM requirements.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Food Tech or related field, a certified Halal executive status, 1–3 years Halal administration or QC experience, and strong record-keeping, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Food Technology, Halal Industry Management, Applied Chemistry, Science, or a related field
• Certified Halal Executive (JAKIM/HPB registered) is required
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Halal administration, QC testing, or a related role
• Good understanding of JAKIM Halal requirements and Halal Assurance System (HAS)
• Good understanding of GMP and ISO 9001 requirements
• Familiarity with QC inspection, testing, documentation, and product release procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational and follow-up skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the implementation of the Halal Assurance System (HAS) in daily operations
• Prepare, submit, and maintain Halal certification applications and renewals through the JAKIM/e-Halal system
• Ensure all raw materials, ingredients, processing aids, and packaging materials have valid Halal certificates from recognised authorities
• Maintain and update the ingredient master list, supplier Halal certificates, Halal records, and related documentation
• Monitor Halal-critical points throughout production including material receiving and storage, material handling, processing, equipment, cleaning and sanitation, and production practices
• Conduct or assist in internal Halal audits and monitor Halal compliance throughout the facility
• Perform inspection and testing of incoming raw materials and packaging materials according to approved specifications
• Perform PQC inspections and testing during production
• Conduct Finished Goods Quality Control (FQC) inspections and testing according to approved specifications
• Identify quality deviations, defects, non-conformities, and Out-of-Specification (OOS) results and prepare internal quality reports

Job description

To ensure compliance with JAKIM Halal requirements, the Halal Assurance System (HAS), GMP, ISO, and internal quality standards across raw materials, packaging materials, production processes, and finished fragrance and personal care products. The role is responsible for maintaining Halal documentation and traceability, carrying out QC inspections and testing, supporting audits, monitoring quality standards, and ensuring that any quality or Halal non-conformities are properly identified, reported, and followed up.

Key responsibilities

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Halal Industry Management, Applied Chemistry, Science, or a related field

Certified Halal Executive (JAKIM/HPB registered) is required

Good understanding of JAKIM Halal requirements and Halal Assurance System (HAS)
