Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Halal & QA Executive to oversee food safety management, Halal compliance, quality control operations, document control, and R&D support. This role ensures all operational processes, raw materials, finished products, and documentation strictly align with local regulatory standards, export requirements, and internal quality systems.

Key responsibilities

Enforce FSSC, HACCP, and ISO protocols; monitor weekly and monthly Critical Control Point (CCP) reports and track process updates in production.

Perform calibration and prepare calibration reports across all departments (production, warehouse, logistics) on a routine/scheduled basis. Report equipment breakdowns affecting food safety and verify corrective actions.

Inspect and verify raw material inbound shipments, fresh fish quality reports, new supplier samples, and Certificates of Analysis (COA). Verify routine local outbound CCP and per-batch quality reports.

Coordinate microbiological testing with external laboratories, maintain records, and propose suitable test methods.

Lead root-cause investigations for customer quality complaints and implement corrective actions.

Host external auditors (Halal, HACCP, ISO, FSSC), government officials (MOH), and visitors. Manage employee onboarding requirements, including typhoid injections and food handler/Halal training.

Prepare and verify all export-related documentation. Review sales contracts against finished goods criteria and production process logs prior to authorizing export loading. Perform container loading verifications before product departure.

Maintain and enforce the Halal Assurance System (HAS) to ensure overall organizational compliance.

Serve as the primary liaison with governmental and regulatory bodies, including JAKIM, JAIS, and foreign certifying bodies.

Manage Halal certification renewals, external audit preparations, internal Halal committee meetings, and employee Halal training.

Manage, update, and archive all hardcopy and softcopy documentations and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Assist the production team during the R&D process, including raw material and production aid sourcing.

Perform sensory and microbiological testing on new product developments (NPD) and compile analytical data.

Maintain accurate R&D recipes, master formulations, and trial revision records.

Apply for Halal certification for newly approved products.

About you

Degree in Science, Food Technology, Halal Management, or a related discipline.

Strong working knowledge of Halal Assurance Systems (HAS), JAKIM/JAIS certification requirements, HACCP, ISO & FSSC standards.

Experience in raw material inspection, laboratory coordination, and root-cause analysis for quality complaints.

Excellent organizational skills with proven capability in managing document control systems across cross-functional teams.
