About the role

Bucher Hydraulics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a talented Purchasing & Sales professional to join our team in Ulu Tiram, Johor on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position that bridges our procurement and sales operations, playing a crucial role in optimising our supply chain efficiency whilst maintaining strong customer relationships. You will be responsible for managing purchasing activities and supporting sales initiatives, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and our clients receive exceptional service. This role is essential to our continued growth and success in the manufacturing and logistics sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing and favourable terms to secure cost-effective procurement solutions
• Process purchase orders, manage supplier relationships and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials and components
• Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimise stock levels and minimise carrying costs
• Support sales activities by providing product availability information, preparing quotations and ensuring customer requirements are met efficiently
• Analyse market trends and pricing data to inform purchasing decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including operations, finance and sales teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives
• Monitor supplier performance, address quality issues and maintain documentation for compliance and audit purposes
• Assist in inventory management, including cycle counts and reconciliation with system records

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory management within the manufacturing, transport or logistics sector
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management practices and procurement procedures
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Proficiency in using procurement systems, inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Sound understanding of inventory control principles and stock management best practices
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying process improvements
• Relevant qualifications in purchasing, procurement, supply chain management or related field are preferred
• Experience in sales support or customer-facing roles would be advantageous
