Job summary

Salutary Avenue Group of Companies in Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing/Procurement Officer to manage supplier coordination, issue POs, and monitor inventory. You will collaborate with Production, Store, Logistics, and Finance to meet material needs and optimize costs.

The role requires a diploma or degree in supply chain or related field, with 1–3 years of purchasing experience, and strong negotiation, communication, and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for competitive prices and favourable terms.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders based on approved Purchase Requisitions.
• Request and compare quotations from suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Follow up on purchase orders, delivery schedules, and outstanding items to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Production, Store, Logistics, Finance, and other departments to fulfil material requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and support material planning to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, quotations, and procurement documentation.
• Evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, quality, delivery, and service.
• Resolve purchasing-related issues, including delays, incorrect items, and discrepancies.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.

Job description

Join our team and play an important role in ensuring timely purchasing, cost efficiency, and smooth business operations. You will be responsible for supplier coordination and procurement activities.

Key responsibilities

Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive prices and favourable purchasing terms

Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved Purchase Requisitions (PRs)

Request and compare quotations from suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality

About you

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and purchasing or inventory systems
