Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a proactive Purchasing Executive to manage sourcing, supplier coordination, and material planning for construction projects across Malaysia. Qualifications

• Minimum a Professional Certificate or Diploma in any field.
• At least 3 years of working experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in Chinese (spoken and written).
• Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and under pressure to meet project deadlines.
• Basic proficiency in MS Excel/Word; familiarity with procurement systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase materials according to site purchase order requirements.
• Coordinate and monitor procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
• Plan, monitor, and control material inventory at optimum levels.
• Conduct, monitor, and evaluate supplier performance to drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Work closely with internal departments (site, project, finance) and external suppliers on purchased items and engaged services.
• Review purchase requisitions and determine appropriate purchasing methods in compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
• Ensure all invoices are matched correctly against purchase orders and delivery orders.
• Compile and prepare price comparisons of construction materials for management review.
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, most of whom are Chinese-speaking, to ensure smooth communication and procurement processes.

About the Role:
We are a G7-registered main contractor undertaking construction projects across Malaysia. As we purchase the majority of our construction materials directly on behalf of our project sites, we are looking for a proactive Purchasing Executive to manage sourcing, supplier coordination, and material planning to support timely and cost-effective project delivery. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply!

Key Responsibilities

Plan and purchase materials according to site purchase order requirements.

Coordinate and monitor procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.

Plan, monitor, and control material inventory at optimum levels.

Conduct, monitor, and evaluate supplier performance to drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and service.

Work closely with internal departments (site, project, finance) and external suppliers on purchased items and engaged services.

Requirements :

Minimum a Professional Certificate or Diploma in any field.

At least 3 years of working experience in the construction industry preferred; candidates with equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

Able to communicate effectively in Chinese (spoken and written), as the majority of suppliers are Chinese-speaking.

Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
