Job summary

Inazume (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a Purchasing Executive to manage procurement for construction projects, ensuring on-time deliveries and cost-effective purchases. You will work with Quantity Surveyors, Project Management, Finance, and Site Operations to support tendering and delivery schedules.

The role requires a diploma or degree in a related field, 2+ years in procurement, and proficiency with Excel, ERP systems, and English/Bahasa Malaysia. On-site Georgetown, Penang experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in supply chain or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in procurement or purchasing.
• Familiar with sourcing, vendor evaluation, and quotation comparison.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Strong negotiation, record-keeping, and multitasking.
• Integrity and confidentiality in handling supplier data.
• Willing to be based on-site in Georgetown, Penang.

Responsibilities

• Process internal purchase requests and generate RFQs.
• Source quotations from a minimum of three vendors and prepare comparison sheets.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Issue and track Purchase Orders (POs).
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and address delays or quality issues.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and maintain AVL; ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and ESG.
• Assist QS in sourcing materials during tender stage and request samples/data sheets.
• Support cost control via market benchmarking and alternative sourcing strategies.

We are urgently looking for a Purchasing Executive to manage and execute procurement and purchasing activities efficiently and ethically, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You will work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Project Management, Finance, and Site Operations to support project-based procurement timelines and construction delivery schedules.

Process internal purchase requests and generate Request for Quotations (RFQs).

Source quotations from a minimum of three qualified vendors, prepare quotation comparison sheets, and obtain necessary approvals.

Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

Issue and track Purchase Orders (POs) in a timely manner.

Coordinate closely with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery to sites, resolving any delivery delays, non-conformance, or quality issues.

Conduct periodic supplier evaluations, maintain approved vendor lists (AVL), and ensure vendor compliance with the Company Code of Conduct, ESG commitments, and regulatory obligations.

Assist Quantity Surveyors in sourcing materials during the tender stage and request samples and technical data sheets as required.

Support cost control through market benchmarking, negotiation, and recommending alternative sourcing strategies.

What We're Looking For

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
• Familiarity with sourcing, vendor evaluation, quotation comparison processes, and basic ERP or digital procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic ERP or procurement systems.
• Good negotiation and communication skills, with strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and follow-through.
• Proficient in both Bahasa Malaysia and English (spoken and written).
• Team player with high standards of integrity, confidentiality, ethical conduct, and the ability to multitask in fast-paced, project-driven environments.
• Must be willing to be based on-site in Georgetown, Penang.
