Job summary

Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors, conducting thorough assessments of their capabilities, pricing and reliability

Preparing purchase orders, negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure the best value for money

Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with relevant departments to forecast material requirements and prevent stockouts

Liaising with operations, production and finance teams to understand purchasing needs and align procurement strategies with business objectives

Processing and managing supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreed terms

Maintaining detailed records of all purchasing transactions, supplier communications and contract documentation

Resolving supplier issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns and discrepancies in orders

Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing procurement improvements to enhance efficiency

Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all procurement activities

What we're looking for

A diploma or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, business administration or a related field

Possesses experience in purchasing, procurement or a related role, ideally within the manufacturing sector

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms with suppliers

Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with procurement or inventory management systems

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

A detail-oriented approach with strong analytical capabilities to evaluate supplier proposals and contracts

Knowledge of supply chain best practices and purchasing procedures

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

Preferably, experience with vendor management, contract administration or cost analysis would be advantageous
