Jora Malaysia is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing professional to source and procure materials, equipment and services for marine and project operations based in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. You will request quotations, compare terms and issue purchase orders with the necessary approvals.
With at least 2 years of purchasing experience in marine, shipping, offshore, dredging or construction, you will negotiate prices, coordinate with project teams and ensure timely deliveries.

Source and purchase materials, equipment, spare parts and services required for marine and project operations.
Request quotations and compare pricing, quality, specifications and delivery terms.
Prepare and issue purchase orders after obtaining the necessary approval.
Negotiate prices and commercial terms with suppliers.
Coordinate with project teams, site personnel, vendors and transport providers to ensure timely delivery.
Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on delayed deliveries.
Maintain accurate purchasing documents, supplier records and price comparisons.
Verify delivery orders and invoices before submitting them for payment.
Identify and evaluate new suppliers when required.
Handle urgent purchasing requests from the office and project sites.
Perform other purchasing and administrative duties assigned by management.

Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience.
Experience in the marine, shipping, offshore, dredging, reclamation or construction industry is preferred.
Good knowledge of purchasing procedures and supplier management.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Able to manage multiple purchase requests and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Responsible, organised and able to work independently.
Familiarity with marine equipment, spare parts and project materials will be an advantage.
