Job summary

TR Build Group Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a purchasing professional for our Kuala Lumpur site. The role focuses on sourcing vendors, obtaining quotations, and negotiating favorable terms for construction materials and services.

You will manage purchase orders, monitor inventories, and maintain supplier relationships while using WeChat and WhatsApp for business communications. A Diploma in a relevant field and 1–2 years of industry experience are required, with onsite presence at our KL location.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing role within construction or building industry.
• Proficiency in Mandarin to communicate and negotiate with suppliers.
• Source and evaluate vendors, obtain competitive quotations, compare supplier offerings.
• Proven negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and pricing with suppliers.
• Experience maintaining relationships with key suppliers.
• Onsite presence at Kuala Lumpur location.
• WeChat and WhatsApp used for business communication.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favorable deals within budget.
• Prepare and process purchase orders with accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to prevent delays.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and expand the supplier base.
• Conduct market research on industry trends and pricing.
• Expedite orders and resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers on purchasing needs.
• Maintain records of vendor information, pricing, and orders.
• Evaluate supplier performance for continuous improvement.

• Monitor inventory levels of key construction materials and supplies, anticipating potential shortages and proactively placing orders to avoid project delays.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and actively seek out new suppliers to expand the company's network and ensure competitive pricing.
• Conduct regular market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product offerings.
• Expedite orders and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or invoicing in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and ensure that materials and equipment are delivered on time and within budget.
• Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including vendor information, pricing agreements, and purchase orders.
• Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and service.
