Job summary

Risewave Consulting Inc. is seeking a procurement professional in Malaysia to plan and execute purchasing activities aligned with production schedules and inventory levels.

The role involves sourcing raw materials, MRO supplies, and indirect materials, while monitoring inventory to avoid shortages and obsolescence, and negotiating with reliable suppliers for cost-effective, high-quality delivery. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, as well as ERP or purchasing systems.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
• Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage to communicate with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and stakeholders.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute purchasing activities based on production schedules, inventory levels, and operational requirements.
• Procure raw materials, MRO supplies, consumables, packaging materials, office supplies, and other indirect materials in a timely manner.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages, overstocking, and obsolete inventory.
• Source, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
• Identify alternative suppliers and materials to support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery delays, quality concerns, and non-conformance.
• Prepare, issue, and maintain Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, specifications, and delivery terms.
• Track purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery while expediting overdue shipments when necessary.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, budgets, and procurement procedures.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and perform other ad hoc tasks or projects assigned by the superior.
