Job summary

MEIDEN METAL ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking a Purchasing Executive to oversee purchasing activities in line with the Purchasing SOP in Malaysia.

The role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating to reduce material costs, ensuring correct materials are ordered, on-time delivery, and proper documentation. You will work closely with QA/QC and other departments, contributing to ISO 9001/EMS compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
• Ability to maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Familiarity with BCP and ISO 9001/EMS context.
• Coordination with QA/QC and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing activities per Purchasing SOP.
• Ensure materials ordered meet quantity, price and specs.
• Ensure on-time deliveries and quality performance with QA/QC.
• Maintain updated purchasing/receiving records.
• Communicate with suppliers for long-term cooperation.
• Assist Purchasing Manager in routine tasks.
• Coordinate with other departments and ISO 9001 audits.

Job description

a) To be oversee all the purchasing activities (following the Purchasing SOP):

• Sourcing for suppliers and do the negotiation in order to reduce the material cost with the expectation that will be profitable to the company.
• To ensure correct materials are ordered as per quantity needed and in accordance with the agreed price and specifications / drawing requirement.
• To ensure on time deliveries and quality performance(will liaise with the QA/QC Dept).
• To maintain an accurate updated purchasing / received records to avoid any material shortages.
• To ensure good communications and relationships with the existing suppliers for long term business cooperation.
• To be familiarize with the BCP for company-employee prosperity and profitability.

b)To assist the Purchasing Manager in carrying Purchasing task

• To ensure the monthly materials ordered are based on the Production schedule to prevent excessive stocks and budget.
• To ensure all the purchasing will be used for company related job.

c) Understanding of QMS/EMS system, and the importance of complying to QMS/EMS requirement:

• To be actively participate in Internal / External ISO 9001 Audit.
• To maintain and updated the related ISO 9001 documentation records for Purchasing.

d) To liaise with other related parties / department
