Job summary

Diploma or bachelor’s in business administration or supply chain is required, with at least 3 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing procurement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement in engineering/manufacturing.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Bilingual in Bahasa Melayu and English (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles.

Responsibilities

• Source and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
• Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements.
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new vendors for partnerships.
• Create and issue purchase orders from approved requests.
• Track orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Store & Facilities to determine material needs and reordering levels.
• Monitor usage trends and adjust purchasing strategies to meet demand.
• Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain supplier databases.
• Evaluate supplier performance, including delivery reliability and quality.
• Address supplier disputes or performance issues promptly.
• Maintain records of purchases, contracts, evaluation reports, and correspondence.

Job description

Source and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.

Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with vendors to ensure cost saving and favourable agreements.

Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identify new vendors for potential partnerships.

Create and issue Purchase Order based on approved purchase requests.

Track and monitor order statuses to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Resolve discrepancies or issues related to order fulfilment, such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns.

Collaborate with Store & Facilities team to determine material needs and reordering levels.

Monitor usage trends and adjust purchasing strategies to align with demand.

Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain an updated database of suppliers and subcontractors.

Conduct evaluation of supplier performance, including delivery reliability and quality consistency.

Address and resolve supplier disputes or performance issues promptly.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, evaluation reports and correspondence for audits and reviews.

Communicate with customers to confirm shipment schedules, delivery dates, shipment methods and delays.

Job Requirements

Must possess at least Diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or any related field.

Minimum 3 years of working experience in purchasing/procurement within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of materials and equipment used in manufacturing processes is an advantage.

Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.

Capable to converse in both Bahasa Melayu and English (both spoken and written).

Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles.

Attention to detail for accurate documentation and order processing.
