KMWE Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement Lead to oversee material and service purchases, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost efficiency. The role collaborates with Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure on-time materials and compliant procurement processes.
The candidate should have a strong background in supply chain management, negotiation, and ERP proficiency to support strategic sourcing decisions.
Lead the procurement of materials and services to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
Develop and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve the best value.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.
Support supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
Work closely with Planning and Warehouse teams to maintain the right inventory levels.
Oversee purchase orders from issuance to delivery, ensuring materials arrive on time.
Follow up with suppliers to prevent material shortages and production delays.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve procurement efficiency.
Monitor market trends and material pricing to support strategic sourcing decisions.
Track procurement KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
Prepare reports on procurement performance, supplier performance, and cost‑saving initiatives.
Ensure suppliers comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO standards where applicable.
Supervise and coach the procurement team to achieve departmental goals.
Work closely with Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality, Sales Operations, Warehouse, and Finance teams to support business needs.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent; or minimum 5 years of working experience in technical purchasing field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong leadership, supervisory, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management abilities.
Strong analytical mindset with effective problem‑solving capabilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Good understanding of supply chain management principles and inventory planning.
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100) is highly preferred.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
