About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Purchaser to join our team at ZI LIAN (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD, based in Melaka. As a Purchaser, you will play a crucial role in our Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics operations, focusing on Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory management. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career progression and development.

What you'll be doing

Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and procure materials, components, and services essential for production and operations.

Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Inventory Management: Manage and maintain inventory levels to ensure a smooth and efficient supply chain.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill the organization’s purchasing needs.

Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to optimise purchasing decisions.

Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to all purchasing activities.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost-saving initiatives.

Purchase Management: Utilize the SQL system to accurately and timely purchase goods as required.

Shipping Documentation: Prepare shipping documents for overseas trading operations.

Supplier Liaison: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.

Communication in Chinese: Liaise with suppliers for panel purchases and shipment arrangements, requiring communication with vendors in China/Taiwan via email, WeChat, or LINE.

Transportation Coordination: Work with forwarders to arrange transportation of purchased goods, ensuring the most economical methods are used for importation.

Reporting: Maintain up-to-date and accurate information in reports.

Team Coordination: Coordinate with Sales, Accounts, and Engineering teams to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Additional Tasks: Perform other related tasks as required.

Proven experience as a Purchaser or in a similar procurement role, preferably within the Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics industry

Strong negotiation and contract management skills
