Job summary

Hotel Grand Continental in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Public Area Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning of hotel public spaces, inspect areas, supervise a team, and ensure cleanliness and order throughout the property. You will manage pest control, stocking, and maintenance, while mentoring attendants and enforcing policies.

The role requires coordinating with various departments to maintain high standards and cost efficiency across all public areas. This position is based on-site in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day cleaning of hotel public areas.
• Perform routine inspection of all public areas, service areas and storerooms.
• Supervise and coordinate pest control, flowers, plants and periodical deep cleaning operations in all areas of responsibility.
• Monitor and maintain cleanness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Directs, supervises and coordinates the activities of general worker and swimming pool attendants in cleaning up the lobbies, coffee house, function rooms, toilets administration office and staff lockers.
• Efficiently manage stock control and the maintenance of all equipment.
• Prepare maintenance work order in the public areas for immediate repairs.
• Help to do the inventories on chemicals and equipment.
• Manage and train public area attendants to ensure their performance meets the standard requirements.
• Conduct daily briefing with fellow workers.
• Maintain discipline and good grooming for the staff and enforces company policy.
• Check proper tools and cleaning supplies and equipment are in working condition and well maintained.
• Maintain a log book to record daily activities.
• Make requisition for public areas usage and reduce unnecessary expenses.
• Check functions to make sure that the outlets are been properly cleared.
• To perform any additional duties and responsibilities when requested by the management.
