Ideal for a junior engineer, you will learn to read technical drawings, manage documentation, and support site coordination while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Entry-level to junior experience in mechanical and electrical coordination or installation.
• Strong understanding of M&E systems and building services installations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination and scheduling of mechanical and electrical works on site.
• Support preparation and review of M&E installation drawings and technical documentation.
• Liaise between M&E contractors, project managers and site teams for seamless coordination.
• Monitor M&E equipment deliveries and verify compliance with project specs.
• Conduct site inspections and document progress of installations.
• Assist coordination of M&E testing and commissioning activities.

About the role

SQA Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking a Protégé M & E Coordinator to join our M & E team. This is a full-time position based in Selangor. In this role, you will be working as a trainee coordinator within our Mechanical and Electrical (M & E) department, gaining valuable hands-on experience whilst supporting the coordination of M & E systems and installations across our construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior professional to develop expertise in mechanical and electrical coordination within the building and construction industry.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting in the coordination and scheduling of mechanical and electrical works on construction sites
• Supporting the preparation and review of M & E installation drawings and technical documentation
• Liaising between M & E contractors, project managers and site teams to ensure seamless coordination
• Monitoring M & E equipment deliveries and verifying compliance with project specifications
• Conducting site inspections and documenting the progress of mechanical and electrical installations
• Assisting with the coordination of M & E systems testing and commissioning activities
• Maintaining accurate records of M & E work performed and materials utilised
• Supporting the resolution of M & E-related issues and conflicts on site
• Attending site meetings and contributing to discussions regarding M & E coordination challenges
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on all M & E activities

What we’re looking for

• A qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Entry-level to junior experience in mechanical and electrical coordination or installation
• Strong understanding of M & E systems and building services installations
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in M & E coordination practices
• Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CAD software (desirable)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment and adapt to changing circumstances
