Job summary

HC Industrial Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Manager to own construction projects from pre-construction to final handover. You will lead the full project lifecycle, coordinating clients, consultants, and site teams to deliver on time, on budget, and to high quality standards.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or related degree and 5–12+ years of senior construction experience, with strong leadership, contract admin, and risk management capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5 to 12+ years of progressive experience in building construction or civil infra.
• Proficiency in MS Project and contract administration workflows.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Project Manager to take full ownership of our construction projects from pre-construction to final handover. In this role, you will lead the overall project lifecycle - managing project financials, contract administration, timelines, consultant and client relations, and site execution teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Direct and oversee the end-to-end execution of construction projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives, master schedules, and financial budgets.

Lead project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, architects, and internal technical teams to resolve critical path issues and drive progress.

Establish project execution plans, resource allocation strategies, and risk mitigation measures from day one.

Manage contract administration in strict compliance with standard construction contract conditions.

Oversee financial performance, including cash flow projections, budget tracking, subcontractor package procurement, and final account settlements.

Handle contractual claims, such as Extension of Time (EOT) applications, Variation Orders (VO), and technical clarifications (RFIs) with consultants and clients.

Supervise and mentor project engineers, site supervisors, and administrative personnel to maintain high productivity and accountability.

Monitor the performance of main subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality specifications and delivery timelines.

Ensure all construction works comply strictly with engineering drawings, statutory requirements, and local authority guidelines.

Enforce rigorous safety standards on site, championing compliance with DOSH regulations, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 to 12+ years of progressive experience in building construction or civil infrastructure, with a proven track record managing projects as a Project Manager or senior lead with main contractors.

Technical Knowledge:

Comprehensive understanding of construction technology, sequencing, estimation, and contract law.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and contract administration workflows.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Strong strategic problem-solving abilities and commercial acumen.

Possesses a valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
