Job summary

Gdparchitects seeks an experienced Project Manager to join the project delivery team in Malaysia. The role acts as site project lead for the Client and Consultant, overseeing contract administration, design coordination and site inspections from start to finish.

You will manage submissions, progress meetings and project documentation while coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and authorities to meet objectives and ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience in construction, contract administration, site supervision or project delivery.
• Proven experience acting as a site project lead for Client and/or Consultant, managing construction matters from site coordination through to completion.
• Degree in Building/Construction-related studies or registration with a recognised professional body (LAM, BEM) or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the site project lead on behalf of the Client and Consultant, overseeing day-to-day construction matters and project delivery at site.
• Lead contract administration throughout the construction phase, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and project objectives.
• Manage and coordinate contract, design, construction, inspection and site-related matters.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities and other project stakeholders on construction-related matters.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor construction progress, workmanship, quality and compliance with the approved design and contract requirements.
• Chair site, technical, progress and coordination meetings, and ensure actions and decisions are properly recorded and followed up.
• Review, manage and coordinate all project submissions, approvals, correspondence, reports and other project documentation.
• Monitor and manage contractual matters, variations, claims, instructions and other construction-related issues.
• Support the project team in identifying and resolving contractual, design and construction issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between all parties throughout the construction phase.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience in construction, contract administration, site supervision or project delivery.
• Proven experience acting as a site project lead on behalf of the Client and/or Consultant, managing construction matters from site coordination through to completion.
• Minimum degree in Building or Construction-related studies, such as Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building or a related discipline.
• Or registered with a recognised professional body within the building and construction industry, such as LAM, BEM or an equivalent professional institution.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, contract administration procedures, site management and project delivery.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, construction processes, inspections and statutory requirements.
• Excellent communication, coordination, meeting management and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work independently and confidently manage multiple construction-related matters at site.
