Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee building construction projects for a 100-person company in Kuala Lumpur. • Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin a significant advantage.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Ability to lead and motivate project teams and manage stakeholders.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting in Malaysia.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans with resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure effective communication among clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.
• Implement and enforce quality control measures and safety protocols aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project financials including budgeting and cost control to ensure profitability.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies to obtain permits and approvals.
• Conduct site inspections and progress meetings to monitor status and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation including reports and change orders.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors for timely material delivery.
• Apply Civil/Building Engineering principles to resolve technical challenges and ensure structural integrity.

• Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.

• Implement and enforce stringent quality control measures and safety protocols throughout the construction process, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

• Manage project financials, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting, to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.

• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project objectives are met and all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.

• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor project status, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.

• Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and close‑out documents, maintaining accurate records for all project activities.

• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and timely delivery of materials and services.

• Utilize expertise in Civil Engineering and Building Engineering principles to resolve technical challenges and ensure the structural integrity and functionality of constructed facilities.
