Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
  • 3-6 years of experience in property development or construction preferred.

  • Familiar with local authority submission processes and building regulations.

Job description

The Project Engineer assists in planning, coordinating, and managing the execution of property development projects from design through to completion and handover. This role ensures that construction activities are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the developer's quality and safety standards. The Project Engineer serves as a key liaison between consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal departments.

Key responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager in developing the project schedule, cost plan, and resource allocation.

Coordinate with consultants (architects, engineers, QS, etc.) during the design and construction phases to ensure design intent, constructability, and compliance with regulations.

Support in tendering, evaluation, and award of contractors and suppliers.

Monitor and track construction progress against the project schedule.

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that works conform to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Coordinate with contractors to resolve technical and site issues promptly.

Review and verify contractor claims, variation orders, and progress payments.

Ensure compliance with building codes, statutory requirements, and company standards.

Assist in monitoring project budgets and cost performance.

Liaise with local authorities for permits, approvals, and inspections.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.

3-6 years of working experience in property development or construction.

Experience with mixed-use or high-rise projects is an advantage.

Familiar with local authority submission processes and building regulations.

Strong understanding of design coordination, construction sequencing, and project management principles.

Proficient in MS Project, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented, with good organizational and time-management abilities.

Proactive and results-driven, with the ability to work under pressure.
