Job summary

Cheng Hoon Air Cond Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Butterworth, Penang. You will oversee the successful delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring on-time completion, budget adherence and high-quality standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience, with strong project management, budgeting, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

About the role
Cheng Hoon Air Cond Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Butterworth, Penang. As a full-time Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

What you'll be doing

Core Responsibility

To manage and support project execution by ensuring all works are carried out according to specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

Job Scope

1. Technical Support

Provide technical support to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

Assist site teams in resolving technical issues and discrepancies.

2. Project Coordination

Coordinate project resources and task allocation.

Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

3. Inspection & Quality Control

Conduct inspections and follow up on corrective actions.

Ensure all works meet quality and safety standards.

4. Material & Procurement Review

Review material usage and procurement requests.

Monitor material consumption to minimize wastage and control costs.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and records.

Report project progress, issues, and updates to management.

6. Site Management Support

Assist in site supervision and ensure progress aligns with project schedule.

Coordinate with site teams to resolve daily operational issues.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree/ diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline

Minimum 1 years of experience in a similar project engineering role, preferably within the engineering industry

Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, organise and deliver complex projects

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities

Proficient in using project management software and tools
