Job summary

thyssenkrupp Elevator in Penang is seeking a Project Engineer to manage and coordinate all project activities, from planning through handover, for elevator and escalator installations. You will ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while interfacing with customers and contractors.

The role requires a degree or diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering and 1–3 years of project engineering experience in relevant industries; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of project engineering experience in construction, M&E, elevator, or escalator industries.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of DOSH/OSHA requirements will be an added advantage.
• Malaysian only preferred; work location: Penang.

• Ensure projects are completed within the approved schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve technical, operational, and commercial issues.
• Coordinate closely with customers, consultants, main contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company safety requirements, and statutory obligations.
• Review drawings, specifications, and site requirements to ensure installation readiness and technical accuracy.
• Lead site teams and subcontractors to achieve project milestones and installation quality targets.
• Manage project documentation, variation orders, progress claims, and reporting requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, authority inspections, and project handover activities.
• Drive customer satisfaction through professional project management and effective communication.
• Anticipate project risks and implement mitigation plans to prevent delays and cost overruns.
• Promote continuous improvement in project delivery, productivity, quality, and safety performance.
