Job summary

thyssenkrupp Elevator in Penang is seeking a Project Engineer to manage and coordinate all project activities, from planning through handover, for elevator and escalator installations. You will ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while interfacing with customers and contractors.

The role requires a degree or diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering and 1–3 years of project engineering experience in relevant industries; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of project engineering experience in construction, M&E, elevator, or escalator industries.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of DOSH/OSHA requirements will be an added advantage.
• Malaysian only preferred; work location: Penang.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all project activities from planning to handover.
• Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and quality.
• Monitor progress and resolve technical, operational, and commercial issues.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, main contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety requirements.
• Review drawings and specs to ensure readiness and accuracy.
• Lead site teams and subcontractors to meet milestones and quality targets.
• Manage project documentation, variation orders, and reporting.
