Job summary

Eastway Engineering Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based provider of aerial access, warehouse and material-handling equipment, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead customer projects from pre-construction through completion, coordinating teams, suppliers and clients at sites across Malaysia.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 2–3 years’ relevant experience, fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant working experience; experience with warehouse equipment or material-handling solutions is an advantage.
• Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin or relevant Mandarin dialects.
• Willingness to travel and possess own transport.

Responsibilities

• Project planning: Manage master schedules, timelines, milestones, equipment, tools, machinery and workforce resources.
• Project delivery: Coordinate pre-construction activities through project completion, including site surveys, permits, scope confirmation, subcontractor selection and client submissions.
• Stakeholder coordination: Work with project teams, subcontractors, internal departments, product principals and customers to ensure timely delivery, quality workmanship and budget adherence.
• Tender and commercial management: Lead project tendering, costing, quotations, client meetings and negotiations.
• Reporting and liaison: Provide weekly project updates to supervisor and act as liaison between product principals and internal sales team.

The company supports customers through equipment sales and rental, as well as spare parts, repair, and maintenance services. As a Project Engineer, you will help deliver customer projects from pre-construction through completion while coordinating teams, suppliers, and customers.

What you will be doing (Key Responsibilities)

• Project planning: Manage master schedules, project timelines, milestones, equipment, tools, machinery, and workforce resources, including contractors and subcontractors.
• Project delivery: Coordinate pre-construction activities through project completion, including site surveys, feasibility reviews, permits, scope confirmation, subcontractor selection, client submissions, installation billing, and collection project hand-over.
• Stakeholder coordination: Work with project teams, subcontractors, internal departments, product principals, and customers to ensure timely delivery, quality workmanship, and progress against budget and schedule.
• Tender and commercial management: Lead project tendering, costing, quotations, client meetings, selling activities, and negotiations.
• Reporting and liaison: Provide weekly project updates tosuperior and act as the main liaison between product principals and internal sales team.

What do we need from you (Job Requirements)

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant working experience; experience with warehouse equipment or material-handling solutions is an advantage.
• Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin or relevant Mandarin dialects, as the role serves Mandarin-speaking customers.
• Possess your own transport and be willing to travel.
