Job summary

JKS Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer to coordinate customers, suppliers and internal teams across the project lifecycle in Penang. You will help keep projects organized, resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery.

Fresh graduates are welcome; 1–3 years’ experience is a plus. Strong planning, risk management and communication skills are essential, with English and Mandarin a plus. Willingness to travel locally and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customers, suppliers and internal teams through the full project lifecycle.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules, milestones and progress.
• Coordinate with customers, Engineering, Design, Automation, Manufacturing, Purchasing and After-Sales.
• Act as the main coordination contact for customers during project execution.
• Follow up on technical matters, decisions, delivery schedules and actions.
• Identify risks, delays and issues and coordinate mitigation plans.
• Monitor changes and requirements outside the agreed scope.
• Maintain project documents (Gantt charts, minutes, reports, drawings, FAT/SAT docs).
• Coordinate customer meetings, reviews and site activities.
• Provide regular project updates to management.

Job description

As a Project Engineer, you will coordinate customers, suppliers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. You will play an important role in keeping projects organised, resolving issues and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

Manage projects from project award, design and manufacturing through FAT, installation, commissioning, SAT and final handover.

Prepare and monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables and progress.

Coordinate with customers, Engineering, Design, Automation, Manufacturing, Purchasing, After-Sales, suppliers and vendors.

Act as the key coordination contact for customers during project execution.

Follow up on technical matters, project decisions, delivery schedules and outstanding actions.

Identify project risks, delays and issues, and coordinate suitable recovery and mitigation plans.

Monitor project changes and identify requirements outside the agreed scope.

Prepare and maintain project documents such as Gantt charts, meeting minutes, progress reports, drawings, operation manuals, FAT/SAT documents, VO records and handover documents.

Coordinate customer meetings, project reviews, FAT, site installation, testing and commissioning activities.

Provide regular project updates and highlight critical matters to management.

About you

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Process Engineering or a related field.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with 1–3 years of experience in project engineering, project management, machinery, equipment engineering or industrial automation will have an advantage.

Good understanding of project planning, coordination, risk management and problem-solving.

Strong communication, follow-up, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin language ability is an added advantage.

Willing to travel locally and overseas when required.
