Job summary

SquareCloud Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Project Engineer for end-to-end IoT solutions to optimize building and plant performance. This full-time, on-site role involves designing architectures, configuring sensors, and integrating data with cloud platforms.

You will manage project timelines, coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and clients, prepare technical docs, and support installation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot IoT systems and related hardware.
• Experience with IoT platforms and industrial automation is beneficial.

Job description

The Project Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Petaling Jaya, responsible for delivering end-to-end IoT solutions for building and plant performance optimization. Day-to-day tasks include designing and implementing IoT architectures, configuring sensors and devices, integrating data with cloud platforms, and ensuring reliable connectivity and system performance. The role involves managing project timelines, coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and clients, preparing technical documentation, and supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities. The IoT Project Engineer will also assist in analyzing data to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and provide ongoing technical support and maintenance to ensure solutions operate effectively.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting IoT systems and related hardware.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems is an added advantage.
• Candidates should possess Project Management and Project Planning skills to manage scopes, schedules, resources, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients, and present technical information clearly.
• Relevant experience with IoT platforms, industrial automation, building management systems (BMS), or energy management solutions is beneficial.
• A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related field is preferred, along with proficiency in basic networking and familiarity with cloud-based data analytics.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience is required
• Ability to work on-site, handle field deployments, and adapt to dynamic project requirements, with a proactive mindset toward problem-solving and continuous improvement.
