Job summary

MASS Precision is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead diverse EMS projects in Penang. You will plan schedules, monitor progress, review customer drawings, and ensure PPAP readiness, while coordinating procurement and material tracking.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. The role requires over five years in project management within sheet metal and machining, with proficiency in SolidWorks and Epicor ERP.

Job description

Create project schedule, confirm project readiness and outputs

Organize project progress, monitor and ensure project status remains on track, completion on time.

Review and translate customer drawing, technical standards, acceptance criteria as required in the projects.

Coordinating and following up on the procurement, and qualification acceptance activities, keep tracks the arrival status of raw materials, tooling, new fixtures, equipment or devices, standard component kitting readiness, and sample submission approval status.

Coordinating and tracking the trial production of samples and the entire PPAP (production part approval process) production process for responsible projects, ensuring they meet expectations meeting customer specifications.

Responsible in recording and capturing the issues/ challenges in manufacturing process and developing timely actions plans to resolve the open action items at the shop floor

Handle issues and risk promptly, provide timely feedback and seek support for any anomalies.

Coordinating and following up for ECN and ECO implementation for the customer design change activities, coordinating internal implementations and cut over.

Other duties as assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Basic proficiency in 2D/ 3D mechanical design software- Solidworks and ability to interpret blueprints reading/ drafting from customers.

Familiarize with ERP- Epicor system

More than 5 years of experience in project management and familiarizing processes specifically in sheet metal and machining industry.

Strong overall project control, planning skills and oversight awareness.

Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills.

Proven problem-solving skills and good time management.

Knowledge in sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, assembly and painting are preferred.
