Job summary

MVC Resources is seeking a project management professional based in Penang Hill, Malaysia to oversee sheet metal and machining projects. The role requires coordinating drawings, procurement, PPAP, and ECN/ECO activities while ensuring strict adherence to customer specifications and schedules.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage risks, and maintain detailed documentation to support on-time delivery and quality targets in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Basic proficiency in 2D/3D mechanical design software—Solidworks.
• Familiarize with ERP—Epicor system.
• More than 5 years of experience in project management in sheet metal and machining industries.
• Strong project control and planning skills.
• Good written and verbal communication, detail-oriented.
• Knowledge in sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, assembly and painting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create project schedule, confirm project readiness and outputs.
• Organize project progress and monitor status to ensure on-time completion.
• Review and translate customer drawings, technical standards and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate procurement activities and track material/tooling arrival and readiness.
• Coordinate and track PPAP production process to meet customer specs.
• Record and address issues in manufacturing, develop action plans.
• Manage ECN/ECO implementation for customer design changes.
• Perform other duties as instructed by superiors.

Job description

• Create project schedule, confirm project readiness and outputs
  
• Organize project progress, monitor and ensure project status remains on track, completion on time.
  
• Review and translate customer drawing, technical standards, acceptance criteria as required in the projects.
  
• Coordinating and following up on the procurement, and qualification acceptance activities, keep track of the arrival status of raw materials, tooling, new fixtures, equipment or devices, standard component kitting readiness, and sample submission approval status.
  
• Coordinating and tracking the trial production of samples and the entire PPAP (production part approval process) production process for responsible projects, ensuring they meet expectations meeting customer specifications.
  
• Responsible in recording and capturing the issues/ challenges in manufacturing process and developing timely actions plans to resolve the open action items at the shop floor
  
• Handle issues and risks promptly, provide timely feedback and seek support for any anomalies.
  
• Coordinating and following up for ECN and ECO implementation for the customer design change activities, coordinating internal implementations and cut over.
  
• Other duties as assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time
  

Requirements

• Basic proficiency in 2D/ 3D mechanical design software- Solidworks and ability to interpret blueprints reading/ drafting from customers
  
• Familiarize with ERP- Epicor system
  
• More than 5 years of experience in project management and familiarizing processes specifically in sheet metal and machining industry
  
• Strong overall project control, planning skills and oversight awareness
  
• Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Proven problem-solving skills and good time management
  
• Knowledge in sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, assembly and painting are preferred
