TKR Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager with planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering projects. You will coordinate technical and site activities, manage resources and subcontractors, ensure safety and quality standards, and maintain client and internal communications.

Responsibilities include reporting, documentation control, and ensuring compliance with company procedures. Some travel to project sites is expected in this role.

Formación

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant project coordination/engineering experience.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• Able to read technical drawings and use MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD (2D) and basic PM tools.

Project Engineer supports Project Manager in the planning, execution, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects to ensure delivery within approved scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements. This role is responsible for coordinating technical and site activities, managing resources and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders. Also, mobilize and demobilize from the designated base in accordance with operational requirements. The Project Engineer contributes to technical execution, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and undertakes ad-hoc tasks assigned by the superior or Management when required.

2) Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Support

Assist the Project Manager in overseeing day-to-day project activities to ensure timely and effective execution.

Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily site operations and overall project progress.

Prepare, update, and maintain project progress reports, site photos, schedules, and charts for tracking and review.

Identify technical, operational, or schedule issues and support the implementation of timely corrective actions.

Communication & Reporting

Attend project meetings and represent the project team when required.

Maintain effective communication and coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Escalate project risks, issues, and deviations to the Project Manager in a timely manner.

Document Management

Ensure accurate preparation, control, and organization of technical drawings, documents, reports, and correspondence.

Review, update, and ensure project procedures, method statements, and work instructions comply with internal standards and client requirements.

Support document submission, approval, and record-keeping in accordance with project and company procedures.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, technical specifications, and quality requirements.

Enforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and client expectations during project execution.

Support audits, inspections, and corrective and preventive action processes.

Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and technical teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of project activities.

Liaise with clients and consultants to ensure project deliveries are met and technical or operational issues are resolved efficiently.

3) Authorities

Access, manage, and maintain project documentation, drawings, and systems related to project execution.

Communicate and coordinate on behalf of the Project Manager for routine project matters, reporting, and follow-ups.

Recommend improvements to project processes, documentation, and site practices.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and subcontractors under the direction of the Project Manager.

4) Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in project coordination, project engineering, planning, or site operations.

Language: Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).

Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications; proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with AutoCAD (2D) and basic project management tools and processes.

5) Preferred Skills and Competencies

Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience using scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera is an advantage.

Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
