Advance MBI (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an engineering professional to manage and deliver fire protection and M&E projects from planning through completion. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance at site.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, client liaison, and on-site project support to achieve successful handover and commissioning of systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Specialization in Fire-Fighting services is preferred.
• On-site experience with M&E works is an added advantage.
• Proficient in using project management software/tools and MS Office.
• Strong problem-solving and coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, schedules and budgets to meet timelines and cost targets.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project success.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays.
• Monitor progress and report on key metrics aligned with milestones.
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements and manage expectations.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams for proper engineering works.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Support site coordination, testing, commissioning and handover of systems.

Job description

This role involves managing engineering projects from planning through to completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will provide technical expertise, manage client relationships, and support the successful delivery of fire protection systems and M&E works.

Key responsibilities

Project Planning & Management: Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered within the approved timeline and cost framework

Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project implementation

Risk Identification & Mitigation: Identify potential project risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and operational disruptions

Project Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor project progress and prepare reports on key project metrics to ensure alignment with project objectives and milestones

Client Liaison & Requirement Management: Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, provide updates on project progress, and manage client expectations effectively

Technical Support & Guidance: Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams to ensure proper implementation of engineering works

Compliance & Safety Assurance: Ensure all engineering works comply with relevant engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols

Site Coordination & Project Support: Assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, and controlling daily activities at project sites to ensure smooth project execution.

Testing & Commissioning Coordination: Assist in the testing, commissioning and handover of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and authority requirements

About you

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related field

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role

Specialization in Fire-Fighting services is preferred

On-site experience with M&E works is an added advantage

Proficient in using project management software/tools and MS Office

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Good communication and coordination abilities

Familiarity with industry standards, local regulations, and safety practices

EPF, SOCSO, and EIS contributions
