Job summary

KS FIRE & SAFETY ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking a PROJECT ENGINEER/JUNIOR PROJECT ENGINEER to join our fire protection installation and maintenance team in Penang. You will coordinate site activities, review drawings, and liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors to drive projects to handover.

The role suits fresh graduates or engineers with up to a few years of experience who can travel to sites, work in a site-based environment and support safety practices and documentation

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering discipline.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and project scheduling software will be an added advantage.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willing to travel to project sites and work in a site-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor project activities to meet work schedules, quality requirements and budgets.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and site requirements, and assist in resolving technical issues.
• Coordinate materials, manpower, equipment and delivery schedules according to project needs.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor installation progress, workmanship and safety practices.
• Assist with testing, commissioning and handover of fire protection systems.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, site records, material submissions and handover documents.
• Support coordination of relevant authority inspections and submissions, including BOMBA requirements where applicable.
• Report project progress, delays and outstanding issues promptly, and follow up on corrective actions.

PROJECT ENGINEER/JUNIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

About the role

We are looking for motivated engineers to join our team in delivering fire protection installation and maintenance projects. You will coordinate site activities, support technical requirements and work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and our operations team.

Fresh graduates and experienced candidates are welcome to apply. The position offered will depend on your qualifications and relevant experience.

What you’ll be doing

Plan, coordinate and monitor project activities to meet work schedules, quality requirements and budgets.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Review engineering drawings, specifications and site requirements, and assist in resolving technical issues.

Coordinate materials, manpower, equipment and delivery schedules according to project needs.

Conduct site inspections and monitor installation progress, workmanship and safety practices.

Assist with testing, commissioning and handover of fire protection systems.

What we’re looking for

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Junior Project Engineer

Fresh graduates and candidates with limited relevant experience are welcome.

Project Engineer

Preferably at least 3 years of relevant experience in fire protection, building services, M&E or construction projects.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and project scheduling software will be an added advantage.

Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Organised, responsible and proactive, with good problem-solving and follow-up skills.

Willing to travel to project sites and work in a site-based environment.

Knowledge of fire protection systems, testing and commissioning, and relevant authority requirements will be an added advantage.
