Job summary

Dwisolar Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager in coordinating with clients and overseeing project execution on site. You will ensure work completes within budget and schedule, maintaining contractual and technical knowledge to support daily operations.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress, reviewing reports, handling claims and variations, and enforcing safety and quality controls.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of field experience in construction projects (M&E)
• Experience acting as Senior Project Engineer or Team Lead
• Hands-on exposure to ACMV, Ducting, Process Piping, and building services
• Strong written and verbal communication in English, ability to draft professional minutes and letters

Responsibilities

• Monitor and update the master project schedule and flag delays
• Review progress reports before submission to the PM
• Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and billing documents
• Track project cash flow, procurement logs, and delivery timelines
• Maintain meticulous on-site documentation: letters, diaries, minutes
• Coordinate client and engineering team communications to resolve issues
• Track procurement pipelines and ensure materials meet specs
• Review purchase requisitions and technical bid evaluations
• Supervise subcontractors and oversee fire protection installations

Job description

Assist the Project Manager in coordinating with clients and executing project management functions to ensure assigned works are completed within budget and schedule. Maintain a strong working knowledge of project contract matters, technical specifications, and compliance standards to support day-to-day operations. Support the PM in enforcing safety and quality control elements on-site, ensuring project deliverables meet client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in task delegation and cascading project requirements down to Project Engineers and site teams
• Monitor and update the master project schedule, tracking daily/weekly milestones and flagging potential delays to the PM
• Review progress reports prepared by Project Engineers before final submission to the PM
• Compile and prepare project progress claims, variation orders, and billing documentation
• Assist the PM in tracking and updating critical project controls, including project cash flow status, procurement logs and delivery timelines, change order tracking, and project close-out documentation
• Maintain meticulous documentation for all project issues, ensuring formal letters, site diaries, and minutes of meetings are accurately drafted and filed
• Coordinate day-to-day communications between the Client and the engineering team to resolve technical issues promptly
• Track procurement pipelines, ensuring that project materials arrive on time as per the schedule and match client specifications
• Conduct initial reviews of purchase requisitions and Technical Bid Evaluations prepared by Project Engineers
• Supervise and monitor construction sub-contractors on-site, specifically overseeing fire protection system installations within the EPC contract framework

About you

• At least a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent certificates in a related field
• At least 5 to 7 years of field experience in the construction industry managing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working within a subcontracting firm
• At least 2 years of experience acting as a Senior Project Engineer or Team Lead, with a proven ability to guide junior engineers and site supervisors
• Solid understanding of commercial Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems, with hands-on exposure to ACMV, Ducting, Process Piping, and building services
• Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel for tracking. Experience reading or utilizing AutoCAD and BIM models is highly desirable
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English, with the confidence to draft professional correspondence and technical minutes
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with experience in managing and developing staff
• Safety certifications a plus
