DONGWHA ELECTROLYTE MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a maintenance professional to safeguard production machinery and facility operations. You will perform scheduled PM, monitor equipment, and respond to breakdowns promptly while maintaining records and assisting with calibration and process support.

The role requires 2–3 years in a similar setting, basic electrical/mechanical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with external service providers to keep plant downtime to a minimum.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, production or related environment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and utility systems.
• Willing to coordinate with contractors and read technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly preventive maintenance for production machinery and equipment.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and participate in corrective maintenance.
• Coordinate servicing with contractors per site requirements and safety rules.
• Act as PIC for equipment calibration and manage calibration records.
• Provide technical support to Production Team and assist with material handling when needed.

Job description

Responsible for maintaining production machinery, equipment, and building facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous plant operation. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, calibration management, contractor coordination, and supporting production activities when required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

Perform scheduled monthly preventive maintenance (PM) for production machinery and equipment.

Conduct daily monitoring and inspection of machinery and equipment.

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations.

Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the root cause of breakdowns.

Carry out corrective maintenance and follow up on repair activities to minimize production downtime.

Maintain proper maintenance records, checklists and documentation.

2. Building & Facility Maintenance

Monitor and maintain building and facility systems to ensure continuous operation.

Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate servicing/repair for:

• HVAC and air-conditioning systems
• Pumps
• Other building and utility equipment

3. Contractor & External Service Coordination

Liaise and follow up with contractors and external service providers for equipment and facility repair.

Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors while ensuring work is carried out safely and according to site requirements.

Monitor contractor work progress and verify completed repair/maintenance activities.

4. Calibration Management

Act as PIC for equipment and weighing scale calibration.

Perform internal calibration activities where applicable.

Coordinate external calibration services and follow up on calibration schedules.

Ensure calibration records and certificates are properly maintained and updated.

5. Production & Process Support

Provide technical support to the Production Team during equipment/process-related issues.

Support production process technician / material handling activities when required.

Assist with material movement, loading/unloading, material preparation and other production-related activities during manpower shortages or operational requirements.

Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency and workplace safety.

Participate in equipment improvement and modification projects.

Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company SOP, safety requirements and relevant regulations.

Perform other technical and operational duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or related field.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, production or related industrial environment.

Experience in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment.

Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and utility systems.

Experience in HVAC, chiller, pump, air-conditioning or dehumidification systems will be an advantage.

Experience in equipment/weighing scale calibration is an added advantage.

Able to coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors and external service providers.

Able to read and understand basic technical drawings, manuals and equipment specifications.

Able to work independently and respond to emergency breakdowns when required.

Willing to support production operations and perform material handling activities when necessary.

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Good documentation and reporting skills.

Working Conditions

Willing to work in a manufacturing/chemical production environment.

Required to perform maintenance work within production and utility areas.

May be required to work overtime, weekends or public holidays during emergency breakdowns, maintenance activities or production requirements.

Must comply with all company safety, PPE and chemical handling requirements.
