Job summary

Tai Sin Electric Cables (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a production operator to operate, set up, and maintain production machinery in Kulai, Johor. You will follow SOPs, monitor machines, ensure quality, and assist with setup, maintenance, and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, and maintain production machinery according to SOPs and work instructions.
• Start, stop, and monitor machines during production operations to ensure smooth operation.
• Ensure quality and output meet required specifications and production targets.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and settings as instructed by supervisor.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormal conditions or breakdowns.
• Assist in machine setup, changeover, troubleshooting, and repair works.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and pre-/post-operation checks.
• Ensure safety guards and PPE are properly installed and functioning.
• Maintain good housekeeping: keep workplace, machines, tools, and area tidy.
• Record machine operating conditions, production output, downtime, and related information.
• Assist supervisor and maintenance team in machinery-related activities and improvement initiatives.
• Carry out other machinery-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Operate, set up, and maintain production machinery and equipment according to established SOPs, work instructions, and production schedules.

Start, stop, and monitor machines during production operations to ensure smooth and efficient operation within specified parameters.

Ensure the quality and output of assigned production orders meet the required specifications and production targets.

Perform basic machine adjustments and settings as instructed by the supervisor to maintain product quality and production efficiency.

Monitor machine performance and identify any abnormal operating conditions, including breakdowns, malfunctions, unusual noises, or irregular machine movements. Report such issues to the supervisor immediately.

Assist in machine setup, changeover, troubleshooting, adjustment, and repair works of production machinery and equipment when required.

Perform routine machine cleaning, basic maintenance, and pre- and post-operation machine condition checks to ensure equipment is maintained in good working condition.

Ensure all machine safety guards and safety devices are properly installed and functioning. Strictly comply with all safety rules, engineering practices, work procedures, and PPE requirements.

Monitor and ensure that finished goods and semi-finished products are properly identified, labelled, and handled to prevent mix-ups.

Record machine operating conditions, production output, downtime, and other production-related information accurately where required.

Maintain good housekeeping by keeping the workplace, machinery, tools, and surrounding areas clean, tidy, and organised at all times.

Ensure that all production activities comply with the established quality, safety, and operational procedures.

Assist the supervisor and maintenance team in carrying out machinery-related activities and production improvement initiatives when required.

Carry out any other machinery-related duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
