Job summary

ASE Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Production Control Manager to lead and coordinate production planning activities across the unit. You will oversee master scheduling, forecast reviews, and capacity planning while coordinating with customers and internal teams to meet delivery commitments.

The role requires strong leadership, process improvement mindset, and the ability to drive planning automation in line with customer requirements and company goals.

• Drive planning system improvements and automation aligned with customer requirements.
• Interface with customers and management to ensure delivery commitments.
• Oversee recruitment, training, performance, and coaching of staff.
• Coordinate capacity planning with IE using forecasting and loading trends.
• Attend external customer business reviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

1. Oversees, advises, assists in the coordination and supervise the activities for Production Planning.

2. Provides leadership, coordinates, and administers the strategic planning process for programs and initiatives of the unit.

3. Review customer forecasts and produces revenue analysis / commit.

4. Responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s production control functions including Master Scheduling, Production Planning

5. Create a positive working relationship with internal and external (customers) through communication.

6. Develops, review, implements and approves items such as planning systems improvement / development, Planning automations or customer requirement.

7. Interfaces with customers to ensure delivery commitments are met and with subordinates, functional peer group managers and senior management.

8. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes hiring, work allocation, training, coaching, motivation, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.

9. Liaise with IE on the capacity planning by using forecasting techniques and loading trend.

10. Attend and present at external customer business review meeting.

11. Any other duties assigned by superior from time to time.
