Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Penang, Malaysia seeks an experienced Planning Manager to drive supply chain and inventory strategies, ensuring on-time delivery and optimized inventory turns. You will lead factory planning, establish production schedules, and secure capacity and manpower to meet revenue targets.

You will oversee ECO implementation, demand fulfilment, backlog management, and collaboration with Inside Sales, while maintaining Oracle-planned orders and adhering to ISO and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Admin, Economics, IE, Production Management or related field.
• Min 2 years in product planning/scheduling or similar capacity.
• Experience with Oracle/ERP/SAP/MRP tools and Windows environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Planning Manager to implement supply chain and inventory strategies.
• Lead factory planning and ensure on-time delivery to customers and hubs.
• Establish production plans and contingency schedules to mitigate risks.
• Manage S&OP planning for capacity and manpower to meet revenue plan.
• Oversee ECO implementation and demand fulfilment and inventory control.
• Support Customer Delight targets: OTD, WIP, FG and safety stocks.
• Coordinate with Inside Sales on backlog status and weekly build plan.
• Track order progress, maintain planned orders in Oracle and set priorities.
• Report exceptions promptly and coordinate product conversions with engineering.
• Plan RMA, rework, purge parts, and manage material shortages with buyers.
• Adhere to ISO, safety, ESD, cleanroom and housekeeping guidelines.

• Shall be assist Planning Manager to fulfill responsibilities for the implementation and execution of key supply chain and inventory management strategies that are synchronized to meet inventory turns, on time delivery and cost targets.
• Responsible for his/her team factory planning and on time delivery to customers and customer hubs.
• Establish production plans & schedule including contingency or exception plans to mitigate known risks when necessary for his/her team.
• Lead and manage factory level S & OP planning to ensure equipment capacity and manpower requirements are secured to meet revenue plan.
• Manage ECO implementation.
• Responsible for demand fulfilment, implementation and control, and inventory management.
• Responsible for Customer Delight – OTD, WIP & Finished Goods (FG) target, and Safety Stocks Allocation Plan.
• Liaising closely with Inside Sales providing status of Backlog. Schedule start and completion dates of orders in weekly build plan
• Follow up sales orders to closure until shipment is confirmed. Maintain planned orders in Oracle.
• Maintain planned orders in Oracle and establish and maintain order priority.
• Track work order performance (yield/ output).
• Report and publish any exceptions immediately to superior.
• Implement EOL list and coordinate product conversions with engineering.
• Plan and execute RMA replacements, rework and purge parts
• Coordinate material shortages with buyers.
• Performing any other duties as directed by the immediate superior from time to time.
• Practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and execution of task.
• Compliance to ISO Requirements, company rules & regulations, applicable codes etc and ensuring compliance to Safety, ESD, Cleanroom and Housekeeping guidelines.

Job Requirements

• Education: Degree in Business Admin / Economics / IE / Production Management / related disciplines.
• Experience: Min 2 years in product planning/ scheduling or similar capacity. Candidates without appropriate experience may be accepted by the hiring manager subject to job nature, availability of buddy, duration of learning, etc
• Special Skills: Experience working with Oracle/ ERP/ SAP/ MRP tools and computer software knowledge etc : Microsoft Window.
