Job summary

The Human Capital is seeking a Product Engineer (CAD) for Complex Optical Systems to act as the primary manufacturing interface for new hardware products. You will sustain production, implement ECOs, and support NPI within a cross-functional team across global time zones.

You should be proficient in CAD, especially SolidWorks, and comfortable dealing with tight tolerances in opto-mechanical assemblies. A strong mechanical engineering foundation is essential.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Masters is useful to set a strong foundation.
• A strong mechanical background, coupled with the aptitude to understand complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Advanced skills in creating and editing parts, assemblies, and drawing files in SolidWorks.
• Experience in the creation, interpretation, and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with a major ERP system, specifically handling material masters, BOMs, and routings.
• Demonstrated self-learning abilities, showing a track record of independently seeking out knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate product designs and create the processes, tools, and procedures required for manufacturing.
• Prepare, release, and revise assembly work instructions for production, alongside tooling and test fixtures.
• Master a steep learning curve to obtain a generic overview of how diverse product lines work, dedicating the majority of your work to very high precision opto-mechanical systems where we require a sound engineering mind that enjoys dealing with complex tolerances.
• Collaborate heavily across time zones with globally based international teams and the procurement department to qualify new components.
