Coherent Corp. in Ipoh, Malaysia, seeks an experienced engineer to lead NPI and product transfers into high-volume manufacturing. You will drive yield improvement, cost optimization, ECOs, BOM management, and cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.

The role requires a strong technical background in optical/electrical engineering, with 5+ years in NPI/manufacturing environments and a track record of solving complex manufacturing challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in product or manufacturing engineering, preferably in optical communications.
• Experience with NPI, product transfer, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with optical transceivers, photonics, or related technologies.
• Proven yield improvement, root-cause analysis, and cost reduction experience.
• Experience with ECOs, BOM changes, and customer qualification activities.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsabilités

• Manage lifecycle of new transceiver and optical product transfers to high-volume manufacturing.
• Analyze yield issues, identify root causes, optimize test processes and costs.
• Initiate ECOs, manage BOM changes, and develop troubleshooting guides.
• Support pilot manufacturing lines during assembly, testing, qualification, and new systems.
• Provide technical analysis for field issues and RMAs.
• Provide engineering support during customer qualification cycles.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality, Test Eng, Manufacturing Eng, Supply Chain.
• Ensure product introduction and production readiness.
• Identify and implement process/product improvements to raise quality, reliability, and yield.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers and cross-functional teams.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in product engineering, manufacturing engineering, NPI, or related engineering function

Experience in NPI, product transfer, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing environments

Experience with optical transceivers, optical components, photonics products, or related technologies

Demonstrated experience in yield improvement, root-cause analysis, process optimization, and manufacturing cost reduction

Experience supporting engineering changes, BOM management, product documentation, and customer qualification activities
