Xianfeng International (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a procurement professional to source raw materials locally and gradually localisation of sourcing from China, ensuring competitive pricing, quality and timely delivery.
You will build relationships with Malaysian suppliers, evaluate offers, negotiate terms, and maintain supplier records while collaborating with Production and QA/QC to meet material specs.
To support the Company's procurement activities by sourcing and purchasing raw materials and other required materials from local suppliers in Malaysia. The role will focus on gradually localising material sourcing currently purchased from China, while ensuring competitive pricing, consistent quality, reliable supply and timely delivery.
Key responsibilities
Identify and develop potential Malaysian suppliers for raw materials and other production requirements
Conduct supplier sourcing, quotation comparison and supplier evaluation
Assess suppliers based on price, quality, capacity, lead time and reliability
Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery conditions
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials meet Company's specifications and quality requirements
Maintain an updated database of approved and potential local suppliers
Work with Production, QA/QC and relevant departments to evaluate alternative local materials
Continuously identify opportunities to reduce dependency on imported materials from China
About you
Minimum SPM with good results; Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or related field is an advantage
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Experience in raw material sourcing is highly preferred
Experience dealing with local Malaysian suppliers is an advantage
Experience in supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation and cost analysis
Good supplier sourcing and negotiation skills
Able to identify and evaluate potential local suppliers
Good understanding of purchasing processes and raw materials
Able to compare supplier pricing, quality, lead time and payment terms
Good communication and coordination skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other basic computer applications
Able to maintain purchasing records and prepare purchasing reports
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage
