Job summary

Uchida MK Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement Executive to manage the procurement process for our Shah Alam manufacturing operations. You will coordinate with suppliers, process orders, and ensure timely delivery to support production.

The role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier relationship management, and experience with procurement software. Travel may be required as part of supplier visits and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in procurement/purchasing, ideally in manufacturing/furniture.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision.
• Able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Support HOD in supervising and guiding department team members.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure best pricing, terms and delivery schedules.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions and other procurement documentation.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality per specifications.
• Maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Monitor suppliers' performance per ISO standards and identify improvements.
• Maintain accurate records and inventory levels to support production planning.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business needs.
• Implement and adhere to procurement policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external ISO audits related to procurement.
• Assist in preparing procurement reports and analyses for HOD and management.
• Support development of procurement processes, workflow and strategies to drive cost savings.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
