Job summary

Jstar Motion Sdn. Bhd in Kulai, Johor is seeking a Process Technician (Welding) to read engineering drawings, set up MIG and TIG welding processes, and perform first-piece inspection to ensure precise bends, radii and dimensions.

You will maintain welding equipment, work with engineering to optimize processes, and uphold 5S and safety while providing transport and parking benefits.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Sheet Metal Fabrication or equivalent trade skill
• 1–3 years of hands-on welding experience
• Ability to read engineering drawings; GD&T knowledge is a plus
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding processes
• Knowledge of 5S and basic machine maintenance

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and DXF designs.
• Perform first-piece inspection and ensure precise bend angles, radii, and dimensions using calipers, protractors and height gauges.
• Perform daily basic machine maintenance, routine checks, and maintain 5S standard.
• Work with Process/Manufacturing Engineering to optimize welding process and troubleshoot defects.
• Set up, operate, and monitor welding processes (MIG, TIG) according to process parameters.
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot welding machines, fixtures and related equipment.

We are a multi-national company involved developing, manufacturing and marketing for intelligent and ergonomic products, located in I-park Industrial area, Kulai, Johor. We are looking to hire for Process Technician (Welding).

You will play an important role in:

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and flat pattern DXF designs.

Perform first-piece inspection and ensure precise bend angles, radius, and dimensions using standard measuring tools (calipers, protractors, height gauges).

Perform daily basic machine maintenance, routine checks, and maintain 5S standard.

Work closely with the Process/Manufacturing Engineering team to optimize welding process and troubleshoot process defects.

Setup,operate,andmonitorweldingprocesses,includingMIG,TIG,accordingtoapprovedprocessparametersandworkinstructions.

Performroutineinspection,maintenance,andtroubleshootingofweldingmachines,fixtures,jigs,andrelatedequipment.

To succeed in this role, we will need you to have:

Education: Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, or equivalent trade skill certificate (SKM/DKM).

Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of hands on experience in Welding operations.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in reading standard engineering drawings (GD&T knowledge is a plus).

Familiar with Welding Machine

Good understanding of material behavior.
