HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Welder TIG/MIG to join our Industrial Engineering team in Perai, Penang. This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality welded components to exacting standards while maintaining production schedules.

You will read drawings, set up and maintain welding equipment, inspect welds, and collaborate with production to meet deadlines, all while upholding health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on welding experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Current TIG and MIG welding certification or qualification.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Read blueprints and welding specs to ensure accurate fabrication.

About the role

HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Welder TIG MIG to join our Industrial Engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Perai, Penang. As a Welder TIG MIG, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, delivering high-quality welded components that meet our exacting standards. This role is essential to maintaining our production schedules and ensuring the structural integrity of our products across various industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding operations on a variety of materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to ensure accurate component fabrication
• Prepare welding equipment and materials, ensuring all tools and machinery are in proper working condition before commencing work
• Inspect completed welds for quality assurance, identifying and correcting defects to meet company and industry standards
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
• Collaborate with production supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines and quality objectives
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Document welding processes and maintain accurate records of completed work

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Welder TIG MIG, with a minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on welding experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Current or obtainable welding certification or qualification in TIG and MIG welding techniques
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications accurately
• Proficiency in welding various materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium alloys
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality welds that meet strict tolerance and aesthetic requirements
• Physical fitness and ability to work in a standing position for extended periods, lifting and manoeuvring heavy materials safely
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to welding operations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills for equipment maintenance
• Preferred: Experience with automated or semi-automated welding systems
• Preferred: Knowledge of relevant ISO standards and welding quality control procedures
