Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz in Malaysia seeks a detail-oriented Production Planning (Process Engineer) to bridge R&D and full-scale manufacturing. You will manage SAP data accuracy, drive NPI implementation for mass production, and lead lean projects to improve efficiency.

You will create and maintain SAP masters, routing, and work centers, plan ECRs, optimize flows, and collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth product transfers and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Electrical & Electronic, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in Electronic Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and Data/Cost analysis.
• Proficiency with SAP (MM, Routing, Work Center setup) and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good English and Bahasa Malaysia communication.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain SAP Material Masters, routing sequences, component consumption, and work center configurations.
• Plan and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECR) from R&D to production with minimal disruption.
• Lead lean manufacturing initiatives and value stream mapping to optimize flow.
• Design and optimize process flows and production line layouts from ground up.
• Perform cycle time measurements and cost analysis within SAP to drive efficiency.
• Coordinate with R&D, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams on NPI and product transfer.
• Manage production readiness for new product introductions and manufacturing transfer.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planning (Process Engineer) to bridge between R&D and full-scale manufacturing. This role is critical in ensuring that our production lines are efficient, our SAP data is accurate, and new product introductions (NPI) are implemented for mass production. The successful candidate will manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR), optimize process flows, and lead lean manufacturing initiatives to drive operational excellence.

Your tasks

• Create and maintain SAP Material Masters, routing sequences, component consumption, and work center configurations.
• Provide first-level SAP troubleshooting and support.
• Plan and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECR) from R&D to the production floor, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption.
• Lead manufacturing readiness for new product introductions.
• Support product transfer from global Rohde & Schwarz sites.
• Design, create, and optimize process flows and production line layouts from the ground up.
• Establish standard work instruction and manufacturing procedures.
• Perform detailed cost calculations within SAP.
• Conduct cycle time measurements and analysis for current and new processes to improve efficiency.
• Work closely with R&D, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
• Partner with R&D to support on Design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping projects.
• Optimize material flow and inventory.
• Optimize cycle time, throughput, line balancing and capacity planning.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Electrical & Electronic, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience working with SAP (specifically MM, Routing, and Work Center setup).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is a significant advantage.
• 3-5 years of experience in Electronic Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and Data/Cost analysis.
• Experience in SMT, PCBA & Final production and High-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
• Experience in NPI and product transfer is highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Project management capability.
• Good presentation skills.
• Strong ownership and accountability.
