Job summary

CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD seeks a Power Supply Engineer with a valid B4 Chargeman certificate to operate and maintain high-voltage electrical systems in Malaysia. The role covers switching, isolation, energization and monitoring of substations, transformers and switchgear.

The candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot faults, conduct testing and ensure strict LOTO safety and regulatory compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid B4 Chargeman Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in electrical operation and maintenance.
• Experience with substations, transformers, switchgear and HV/LV distribution systems.
• Ability to read SLDs and electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical protection systems, switching procedures and fault troubleshooting.
• Maintain electrical records and documentation.

Operate and maintain high-voltage electrical systems and equipment.

Carry out switching, isolation and energization of electrical equipment in accordance with approved procedures.

Monitor and inspect substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems and other electrical equipment.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems.

Troubleshoot electrical faults and coordinate rectification works.

Carry out electrical testing and inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly.

Ensure LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and other electrical safety procedures are followed.

Maintain electrical records, inspection reports and maintenance documentation.

Coordinate with contractors and technicians for electrical maintenance and repair works.

Ensure electrical work complies with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, safety regulations and company procedures.

Respond to electrical breakdowns and emergencies and take appropriate action to restore the system safely.

Job Requirement:

Possess a valid B4 Chargeman Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in electrical operation and maintenance, preferably in high-voltage systems.

Experience in substation, transformer, switchgear and HV/LV electrical distribution systems.

Knowledge of electrical protection systems, switching procedures and fault troubleshooting.

Able to read and understand single-line diagrams (SLD) and electrical drawings.

Good knowledge of electrical safety procedures, LOTO and safe isolation practices.

Able to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment.
