Job summary

Guocera Tile Industries in Malaysia is seeking a production supervisor to lead polishing line operations and drive quality and output targets. You will optimize polishing parameters, monitor performance, and coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure seamless production.

The role requires a degree or diploma in engineering and 1–2 years' experience in ceramic tile manufacturing, with strong knowledge of porcelain tile polishing, surface finishing and defect analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in engineering required with relevant field.
• Experience in ceramic tile manufacturing, preferably polishing operations.
• Knowledge of polishing abrasives, calibration procedures and defect analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily polishing line operations and ensure smooth production activities.
• Optimize polishing process parameters to achieve quality and output targets.
• Monitor machine performance, downtime, yield and defect rates.
• Investigate and resolve production, process and quality issues via root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Kiln, Trimming and Sorting teams for seamless operations.
• Monitor abrasive consumption and drive cost efficiency.
• Lead manpower planning, training and team development.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to boost productivity and product recovery.

Job description

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in ceramic tile manufacturing, preferably in polishing operations.

Strong knowledge of porcelain tile polishing processes, surface finishing technology, and quality requirements.

Experience in leading production teams within a continuous manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of polishing abrasives, calibration procedures, and defect analysis.

Familiarity with HMI-based production systems and process monitoring.
