Job summary

Guocera Tile Industries, part of the Hong Leong Group, seeks a skilled Maintenance/Process Technician to oversee press machines and drive reliability in a fast-paced tile manufacturing plant in Johor. You will monitor equipment, analyze data, troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years in manufacturing, plus hands-on

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in ceramic tile, building materials, heavy industry, or automated manufacturing is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of press machines, hydraulic systems, automation controls, sensors, PLC, and HMI systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in equipment reliability improvement, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and root cause analysis techniques.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation and performance of press machines to ensure production targets, product quality, and operational efficiency are achieved.
• Monitor machine parameters, analyze production data, and implement corrective actions to optimize productivity and minimize defects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and automation-related issues to reduce machine downtime and improve reliability.
• Coordinate and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for press equipment and related systems.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Technical teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead root cause analysis for process and equipment-related issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Support machine setup, commissioning, parameter tuning, mold changes, and process validation activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards while maintaining a safe working environment.
• Prepare technical reports, monitor equipment performance trends, and propose improvement plans to enhance overall manufacturing effectiveness.

Job Requirements:
