Job summary

ASA System (M) Sdn.Bhd is seeking a PLC Programmer/Automation Engineer in Penang to develop, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs based on project requirements. The role involves integrating PLCs with HMIs, DCS, and SCADA, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable control solutions.

The candidate should have a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation, 2–3 years’ PLC programming experience, and willingness to travel for project support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of PLC programming/Automation experience.
• Able to work independently on design, programming, and on-site commissioning.
• Good communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Willing to travel locally or overseas for project support.

Responsibilities

• Develop, code, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs based on project requirements and specifications.
• Integrate PLC systems with HMIs, DCS, or SCADA systems.
• Design electrical control systems and create wiring diagrams.
• Commissioning and testing of PLC systems to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC hardware and network communications.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, project managers, and end-users.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation and change logs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
• Provide training and support to end-users on operation and maintenance.
