Job summary

Sophic Automation in Malaysia seeks a senior PLC programmer to design, develop and test industrial automation solutions. You will work across Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff and Allen-Bradley platforms, develop HMIs/SCADAs, and support installation, FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.

The role requires hands-on PLC experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on customer sites. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics/Automation/Instrumentation/Control/Robotics or related
• Polytechnic graduates encouraged to apply
• Diploma holders with strong automation experience may be considered for senior level

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, test and maintain PLC programs for industrial automation systems.
• Program and configure PLC systems using major platforms (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Beckhoff).
• Develop, configure and maintain HMI/SCADA applications.
• Configure PLC hardware, I/O, networks and control-system architecture.
• Integrate PLC systems with sensors, drives, robots and vision systems.
• Lead and support FAT/SAT, on-site commissioning and post-installation support.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC/HMI/SCADA and electrical issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and as-built records.
• Travel locally and overseas for commissioning up to 25-40%
