Job summary

SPEKTRA BUMIMAS SDN BHD is seeking a Planner to develop, monitor, and update construction schedules to keep projects on time and within budget. You will work with project teams to gather progress data and ensure CPM-based controls across infrastructure or building projects.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering background, 2–5 years planning experience, and proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project. This on-site role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in construction planning.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of CPM and project controls.
• Ability to read drawings and specs.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
• Prepare baseline schedules, progress updates, and recovery plans when delays occur
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to collect progress information
• Monitor project milestones, critical path activities, and project performance
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and client submission
• Identify potential scheduling risks and propose mitigation actions
• Evaluate project delays and assist in extension of time (EOT) claims where required
• Support resource planning and coordination of manpower, materials, and equipment timelines
• Attend project coordination meetings and provide planning input
• Ensure all planning documentation is properly maintained and updated

About you
