Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to support and supervise site construction activities for a major industrial engineering and construction project in Malaysia. The successful candidate will oversee piping and related mechanical works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, quality, safety, and schedules.

This role requires strong site coordination and contractor management, plus the ability to review drawings, provide technical input, and maintain project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of site construction experience.
• Experience in piping and mechanical construction activities.
• Knowledge of steel structures, cryogenic/high-temperature piping, machinery installation.
• Familiar with international piping and mechanical standards/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise piping, demolition, steel structure, cold box erection, equipment and mechanical works on site.
• Provide technical support and guidance to contractors on construction requirements and procedures.
• Review construction drawings and provide technical input to the design team.
• Inspect and verify equipment and materials delivered to site.
• Conduct quality inspections and follow up on non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and test packs.
• Support site safety activities, toolbox meetings, safety walks and reporting of safety events.
• Monitor contractor progress and collect actual work data for progress reporting.
• Maintain and update project documentation related to piping and mechanical works.
• Participate in work acceptance, punch-list activities and project completion.

About you

Knowledge of construction methods involving steel structures, cold box installation, cryogenic/high-temperature piping, machinery and equipment installation

Familiar with international regulations and standards related to piping and mechanical works

Strong organization, coordination and independent working skills

Positive attitude and strong teamwork

Good command of English, both written and spoken
